Vitec Visiolink Modular Platform

VITEC VISIOLINK MODULAR PLATFORM

Overview

The Modular Platform and Modular Design System revolved around creating a brand new platform for the Vitec Visiolink app solutions. To ensure a modern look and feel the structure and interface of the solution has been updated. In the Modular Platform the app is divided into universes based on different content types.

VITEC VISIOLINK MODULAR PLATFORM

Design System

The Modular Platform design system was created to ensure consistency and scalability and establish a single source of truth for development, documentation and used as foundation for a new customer configuration template file.
To improve efficiency in the development phase the design system file and customer configuration files is also used as a centralized environment for exporting fonts, colors and assets.

To visualize all the features in categorized database and establish a collection of configuration possibilities the program Notion and its Figma embed feature is used. This establishes a connection between the design system file and the feature database, with configurations being added to the Notion document when added to the design system file.

VITEC VISIOLINK MODULAR PLATFORM

Universes

The Modular Platform is based around the concept of dividing content into each own universes. This allows for a scalability that doesn’t compromise the structure when adding new content to the app.

The different universes can be accessed from the central Universe Picker.

To allow for more personlization it is possible for the user is to select their own start universe with the goal to increase user engagement.

VITEC VISIOLINK MODULAR PLATFORM

UX-test, Design, Development

To validate the structure and layout of the platform a UX-test was conducted in collaboration with the company Uptuner. The UX-test was carried out with 10 people in different age groups and different amount of experience with E-Paper apps.

The conclusion of the test was a understandable structure once explored and repositioning of a few features.
